Argentina is a federal presidential republic governed under the Constitution of Argentina. Executive authority is exercised by the president, who serves as both head of state and head of government. Legislative authority is vested in the bicameral National Congress, consisting of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, while the judiciary interprets and applies the nation’s laws. Argentina is divided into 23 provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, with each jurisdiction maintaining its own constitution and elected government. National elections are held regularly, allowing citizens to choose the president, members of Congress, provincial governors, and local officials. The country’s political landscape includes several parties, alliances, and electoral coalitions.
