The Shalimar Gardens, laid out in the traditional Mughal style with terraced fountains and reflecting pools, offer a peaceful counterpoint to the busy old city. Food Street in the old city fills each evening with vendors serving Lahore’s famous street food beneath the illuminated fort and mosque.
