1. Poverty: Zimbabwe, efforts to combat poverty have included various social programs and economic reforms. The government has implemented initiatives such as the Public Works Program, which provides temporary employment opportunities to vulnerable communities, and the Harmonized Social Cash Transfer Program, targeting households living in extreme poverty. Additionally, policies aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth and job creation have been introduced to uplift marginalized communities and reduce poverty rates. While specific statistics may vary, it is estimated that poverty rates in Zimbabwe have decreased from around 72% in the late 1990s to approximately 50% in recent years.
2. Hunger: To address hunger and improve food security, Zimbabwe has undertaken measures to enhance agricultural productivity and increase access to nutritious food. Initiatives such as the Command Agriculture Program and the Conservation Agriculture Program have been implemented to support smallholder farmers, improve crop yields, and enhance resilience to climate change.
