Biography
His Royal Majesty, Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah Krofa II, Abakomahene of Ahwerase – Akuapem in Akuapem Traditional Area Eastern Regional of The Republic of Ghana, will be honored by both, Broward County Government and the City of Fort Lauderdale, with special recognition of the Keys, to both, County and City, at a private closed-door meeting ceremony. Protocol to greet his majesty is a simple shake of hands addressing him as, “his Royal Majesty.”
Chieftaincy
Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah II was enstooled as Abakomahene in August 1991, at the age of 14. His majesty, as the Abakomahene, is the head of the sub-chiefs, overseeing the Royals in the traditional Area in the palace of the Chief of Ahwerase. His Majesty’s name is in the in national house of chiefs in Ghana’s registration book duly gazette, as number 1876.
His Majesty’s sovereign bloodline initiated the slavery trade abolishment in the Republic of Ghana and West Africa, in 1642.
Odehye Yaa Kwabea, who was to be royal Queen of Asona, Okogyeaman Te-Te Kwame Awuku Nyarko Royal Family of Ahwerase Akuapem. Her royal majesty was to become Queen of Ahwerase Akuapem. She was taken by slave traders to be sold, unsuccessfully, in the African slave market. This event triggered the strategized and organized abolishment of slave trading in the Republic of Ghana and West of Africa.
His majesty’s royal family were considered the greatest warriors in the Akuapem state. They fought all the great tribes in the “Gold” coast, now Ghana. They defeated the great Akwamu empire in 1730 and the Ashantis in 1826 in the war called AKANTAMASU. In 1717 His dynasty defeated the Asantehene and captured in Akyem and Asante war.
His Majesty’s great grandfather, Ohene Asah Krofa positioned Nana kofi Asamani (or “Asameni”) of Akwamu, to become the first black Governor of Christiansborg Castle, in Osu, Accra, Ghana, on the Gulf coast of Guinea, 1693.
Currently, his Majesty is the sole Pillar and icon advisor of Okuapehene and elders for the preservation of natural heritage, culture, and human rights. He spearheads solutions for the region’s climate change initiatives.
He heads the Akuapem Ahwerase Traditional council Board for Development. His majesty is vested in educational development projects for Okuapemman, targeting kids in distress.
Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah Krofa II is also the founder of Organic Farms with interests in commercial farming.
Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah Krofa II Holds 10,278 Acres of land under his stool for business purposes.

A PRELUDE TO HIS TOUR, OFFICIALLY SLATED TO KICK-OFF LATE SRPING 2023, TO PROMOTE AND STRENGTHEN ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL TIES WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD.
South Florida, February 7th, 2023 — For the occasion of February’s Black History month, His Royal Majesty Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah Krofa II, (Abakomahene of Ahwerase —Akupem in Akuapem Traditional Eastern Region of Republic of Ghana) will be honored by both, Broward County Government and the City of Fort Lauderdale, with special recognition of the Keys, to both, County and City, at a private closed-door ceremony. This occasion commences The Royal Ohene’s South Florida tour through historic and cultural landmarks as well will mark the beginning of trade and cultural exchange between South Florida and Ghana’s commonwealth.
The tour, strategized and organized by Panta Interactive LLC, will continue with the Majesty’s visit to Fort Lauderdale’s prestigious institution, the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. Director Bonnie Clearwater and Curator Valeray Francisco will greet the Sovereign while overseeing a ceremony of cultural exchange; His Majesty, will be gifted artworks by American Artists which deal with cultural, personal, and art historical investigations of identity courtesy of Art N Folly Gallery. Following the ceremony, In Fuse Group headquarters will award the Sovereign with an artwork from Fuse Group’s Art Collection courtesy CEO Eyal Peretz as a symbol of bilateral trade, cultural exchange and friendship.
The Sovereign’s prelude visit intent is to honor February’s Black History month. His Majesty’s, Ohene’s descendance was the first dynasty to initiate slavery abolishment in Ghana and West Africa in 1642. In Honor of the Sovereign’s family’s history, the Miami leg of the tour will underscore African American owned businesses commencing with the historic Dunns-Josephine Hotel in Overtown. The royal visit will culminate with a celebratory dinner hosted by Red Rooster in the heart of Overtown. His Royal Majesty will dine amongst city officials, celebrities, and community leaders in a dining room which holds part of Red Rooster’s comprehensive black art collections while experiencing comfort food which celebrates the roots of American cuisine and the diverse culinary traditions of Overtown.

Miami’s Overtown neighborhood, Dunns-Josephine Hotel, which opened last December. The hotel pays homage to Miami and Harlem Renaissance periods of “glitz and old-world glamour.” If you’re a jazz music buff, you’re likely familiar with the Overtown neighborhood. During segregation, Black performers like Nat King Cole, who performed at white Miami hotels like the Fontainebleau, were not allowed to stay there.
