Armenia has seen significant economic growth in the past two decades, leading to a reduction in poverty from 56.1% in 1999 to 23.5% in 2018, according to the World Bank. Nonetheless, the government continues to address poverty through initiatives such as the "Armenia: Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper" which focuses on creating more job opportunities and improving social protection systems.
Armenia has made substantial progress in reducing hunger. The government, with the help of international organizations, has improved food security through agricultural development projects and programs aimed at modernizing farming techniques, increasing crop yields, and improving access to markets for small-scale farmers.
Armenia's healthcare system has undergone extensive reforms since its independence. The country has implemented a universal healthcare system, with the government investing in medical facilities and training for healthcare professionals.
